Treadwear cover

Predator’s published treadwear allowances are 50,000–55,000 miles for selected patterns and sizes, subject to eligibility and documented maintenance.

Keep rotation and distance records. Confirm your exact allowance and the terms in effect at purchase with our team; reduced allowances apply to some fitments.

Road-hazard protection

Predator’s published VIP road-hazard plan provides up to 12 months from purchase for eligible tyres, subject to a tread-depth limit and other conditions.

Contact us first

Confirm the applicable NZ benefit and tread-depth cutoff with Traction Tyres. Contact us before arranging a repair or replacement you intend to claim for.

Published road-hazard terms ↗

Coverage and remedies are subject to the applicable warranty terms. Normal wear alone does not establish a defect or entitlement to a free tyre. Your New Zealand consumer rights are additional to this warranty.

The routine that matters

Make rotation
part of the routine.

Rotate regularly using the correct pattern for your fitment. Follow any shorter interval specified for your vehicle or tyres.

UHP passenger tyres

5,500 km

Recommended booking interval

This keeps you within Predator’s published maximum of 3,500 miles (approximately 5,633 km).

Standard light-truck tyres

8,000 km

Recommended booking interval

This keeps you within Predator’s published maximum of 5,000 miles (approximately 8,047 km).

Different front and rear sizes or directional tyres? Ask your fitter for the correct rotation plan. Have uneven wear checked promptly.

01

Keep the paperwork

Keep the original purchase invoice. Have the servicing workshop complete and sign each rotation record at the time, with the date, odometer, work performed and invoice or job-card reference.

02

Check inflation

Maintain the cold inflation pressures specified for your vehicle, tyre fitment and load. Ask your fitter to confirm the correct pressures.

03

Maintain the vehicle

Keep wheel alignment, balance, steering and suspension in good condition. Have irregular wear or vibration investigated promptly.

04

Use the right fitment

Use tyres with the correct size, load and speed ratings for the application. Avoid overloading, running flat or continued use of damaged tyres.

Have these ready

Your claim checklist

  • Purchase detailsOriginal purchase invoice, retailer, purchase date and warranty terms supplied at purchase.
  • Vehicle & kilometresRegistration, make/model, fitting and current odometer readings.
  • Service historyWorkshop-completed rotation records, service invoices or job cards, and alignment or repair reports.
  • Tyre details & photosPattern, size, full DOT/date codes, serial/barcode identification, tread readings and photos of each affected tyre.

Keep the affected tyres available for inspection. We prepare Predator’s claim paperwork with you, including your signature and any inspection or test evidence requested. Missing records? Ask the workshop for copies rather than reconstructing entries from memory.

One place for the details

Your tyres.
Your service history.

Keep the full story of your tyres: fitting details, a rotation history and a detailed workshop inspection sheet with individual tyre measurements.

Open the 3-page service pack ↗

Three A4 pages. Ask the workshop to complete the history and an inspection sheet at every visit. Keep these with the purchase invoice and dated service evidence; handwritten owner entries alone do not establish a verifiable rotation history.

The details, explained

A few useful answers.

Do I need to contact Predator overseas?

No. Start with our NZ team. Traction Tyres handles the manufacturer claim with Predator on your behalf. Your supplying retailer can also help coordinate a return.

Does every Predator tyre have a mileage warranty?

No. Mileage cover applies to selected models and sizes, with maintenance and use conditions. Confirm your exact tyre’s allowance with us. A mileage warranty is separate from the manufacturer’s warranty against eligible defects.

What if my vehicle has different front and rear tyre sizes?

Some fitments cannot be rotated front to rear. Predator’s published mileage terms reduce the rear-axle mileage allowance on staggered fitments to 50% of the applicable allowance. Ask our team to confirm how the terms and rotation requirements apply to your vehicle.

What can affect a manufacturer warranty claim?

Damage or wear caused by incorrect pressures, overloading, misalignment, worn suspension, improper fitting, misuse or unauthorised alterations may be excluded. Road-hazard damage and damage caused by racing, competition or off-road use are not manufacturing defects. The cause of the issue and the applicable cover are assessed for each claim.

Is replacement always free?

The remedy depends on the type of claim and applicable terms. A mileage claim may involve a proportional allowance rather than a free tyre. Mounting, balancing, freight or other costs may be outside the manufacturer’s cover; we’ll explain any proposed charges before proceeding. This does not limit remedies available under New Zealand consumer law.

Can I make a warranty claim in New Zealand?

Yes. Predator has agreed to accept eligible NZ warranty claims through Traction Tyres. Use the local process on this page; we handle the claim with Predator. Check any separate road-hazard benefit with our team rather than using an overseas third-party claim service.

Is road-hazard protection for one year?

Yes. Predator’s published VIP plan is for up to 12 months from purchase, with a tread-depth cutoff and eligibility conditions. Its public terms describe US/Canada coverage; Traction Tyres must confirm the separate benefit that applies under your NZ purchase. Your warranty booklet and the terms in effect at purchase matter, so contact us first.

What evidence should I keep for rotations?

Keep the original tyre purchase invoice and the warranty terms supplied with it. For each service, retain a dated invoice, receipt, job card or workshop service report identifying the vehicle, odometer reading and rotation work. Have the workshop complete and sign the log and record its branch/address and contact details. For a free rotation, ask for a zero-charge job card or written workshop confirmation. Keep clear digital backups as well as originals.

Can I just complete the service log myself?

Owner details can be filled in by you, but the servicing workshop should record and verify the work it performs. Predator requires mileage and rotation records to be available and verifiable. Entries written by an owner alone are not enough to establish that history. A workshop signature is useful, but supporting records and workshop contact details allow the work to be checked. If records are missing, ask the workshop for copies and speak to us. These evidence requirements relate to the manufacturer warranty and do not determine your statutory rights.
